Digital x-rays are faster, has instant viewing, and up to 90% less radiation. This helps us make the most accurate and efficient diagnosis of your dental conditions.
Bitewings are the most common x-rays taken. We use them to find cavities between the teeth, see tartar on the roots, old worn out fillings, and receding bone loss from periodontal disease. Periapical x-rays are also taken. They show the entire tooth, from the crown to the root of the tooth. Other types of dental x-rays may be taken as needed.
Our dental assistant will start off by placing a lead apron on to protect the rest of your body. The x-ray sensor will then be placed inside the mouth with the correct bite block, and we will have you bite down gently. Once all x-rays are done, you will be able to see the images instantly.

Our digital X-rays are very safe and has significantly less radiation, no need to process the films and wait for development. Images are instantly shown as soon as the x-rays are captured. Along with a lead body apron, covered from the neck to the knees, will protect the body from scatter (stray) radiation. A limited amount of X-rays will only be taken for accurate dental diagnosis.
