Root Canal
Root canal therapy is needed when your tooth’s nerves are infected or inflamed. Common signs to look for include: constant toothache, severe sensitivity to hot and cold, and/or swelling. It is important if you have these signs to see your dentist right away to discuss solutions. A root canal can save a decayed tooth from having to be removed. Treatment starts with an endodontist, a specialist of root canals, who will disinfect the inside of the tooth and remove all the decay. The tooth is then filled temporarily. At the next visit, usually a week later, we will place a crown over the tooth to give your teeth functionality again.
